Hashburn Inn Fantasy_tavern_interior_by_whatyoumaydo-d5313im

The Hashburn inn contrasted highly with it's surrounding streets. Instead of stone and bronzed pipes. the building was made up of wood and off white ply-boards. The steps leading to the door were incredibly squeaky and unsturdy.

On the inside, the inn was dimly lit, but a warm fireplace gently danced and cast a low light on the lobby. The innkeeper was a short, lanky fellow who didn't seem to have much backbone. He was very interrogative to those who entered, and always seemed to be looking over his shoulder with a slight paranoia.

The rooms of the tavern were small, with beds that weren't comfortable in the least. The mattresses were stuffed with straw and the pillows were made of rough down feathers. Each room had its own bed and side table, complete with a lantern, but the bathroom was a community bathroom out in the hall.

Hashburn Inn Empty Nerisella 16: Arrival

Post by Cateyeniki Sun Jun 05, 2016 6:34 am

Nerisella stalked down the street which was deserted at this point due to the late hour of the night. Making sure that Jericho was still behind her, she continued her pace, seeing the Hashburn Inn coming into view.

She silently prayed that at least Benvah and that jerk of a noble were gone, she honestly did not want to deal with them right now. Nerisella's hope was that she didn't have to see Benvah for a while. He's been getting more aggressive with each encounter and even though she'd never say it openly- it terrified her.

Noticing the steps of the Inn coming up, she turned to the Orc. "Here we are, the wonderful Hashburn Inn. It's not luxurious, but it's a place to stay." Stepping onto the creaky wooden steps, Nerisella made her way into the lobby, the man still behind the counter. She wanted to laugh, it seemed like he actually lived behind that lousy structure.

Putting her hand up in greeting, he smiled and glanced at Jericho who was behind her and raised a brow. Returning to your gaze, you knew he wanted to know who this was as well. Grinning you said, "Just an old friend I ran into at the Pub, he needed a place to stay and seeing as I had a room here..."

Trailing off, she saw the man nod a grin playing on his face.

"Well, your other friends left a few hours ago ma'am. You two have a nice night.

"That's good to know, thanks for everything. Ah, yes, you have a nice night too." Walking past the desk and down the hall where a mere few hours ago, the troubling incident occurred, but the hallway was cleared and it was silent.

Swinging the key around her finger, Nerisella walked towards her door, stopping momentarily in front of it to see if she could hear any movement from the other side, hoping to not make the same mistake again. Seeing as she couldn't hear a single thing, she deemed it okay to enter the room. Putting the key into the keyhole, she pushed the door open and walked it.

The room was shrouded in darkness, the only source of light was the moon, that was full that night, streaming through the raggedy curtains. Easily navigating her way through the room, she lit a lantern; illuminating the room in a soft glow. Kicking off her heels and lifting her hat of her head and throwing it on the chair in the corner of the small room, she plopped onto the bed, happy to be laying down.

"Funny thing is, this is where that shit storm I told you about went down, but it looks like they all cleared out, which I have no complaints about." Motioning towards the other empty bed, you waited for the big Orc to test it out.

Jericho 7

Jericho stumbled blindly behind his new companion, hiccupping a bit as he strode. He wasn't sure where she was leading him, but she said she knew where the inn was, so he figured it was worth following her. When they finally came up on the inn, he noticed a sign that was bright red, eve under the dim light and it read Hashburn Inn.

He followed silently inside and listened to the woman's exchange with the innkeeper with a bit of a grin on his face. He found the conversation to be amusing. As they walked away, he gave a look at the innkeeper that said 'It's not like that, buddy.'

When she finally opened the door to her room and relaxed onto her bed, Jericho just stood in the doorway for a moment. "I guess that's pretty coincidental," he said loudly, a slight hiccup interrupting his sentence halfway through. His face relaxed it an expression of sincerity as he stared at the new woman.

"Are you sure you don't mind? I can just go get my own room, darlin' - you don't have to provide a bed for me." He said in a slight slur, an understanding smile strewn across his face. He wanted to make sure he didn't make this woman uncomfortable, and considering that they had just met, it occurred to him that she may not be okay with him staying in the same room as him.

He, however, had no qualms about the situation. He'd dealt with far too many assassins and thieves to still be concerned with a potential encounter with one.

Hashburn Inn Empty Nerisella 17: Exhaustion

Post by Cateyeniki Sun Jun 05, 2016 8:41 am

Nerisella let out a laugh and lifted her head slightly, looking up at Jericho. "It doesn't matter to me bud, whatever you're comfortable with." Lifting herself up she faced the Orc who seemed a bit hesitant.

"I've had a hard and honestly confusing day today, all I want is some sleep. If you want to get your own room, go right ahead." She let out a yawn after finishing her sentence, sleepiness starting to come to her once again.

She could understand being a little weary about staying with a stranger and she would understand why he'd want to get his own room. Nerisella just had this nagging feeling in the back of her head.

What if one of those lunatics came back into the night? It wasn't exactly the smartest thing to do- coming back to the same place where the confrontation occurred, but she was running out of gold and it would've just been a waste. Sleeping in another abandoned house didn't really sit well with her.

Jericho 8

Jericho smiled as he stepped into the room and stumbled forward, falling onto the hard hay mattress on his stomach. "Damn these are comfortable," He murmured. "All we got's back home is stone beds carved out of the mountainside our houses are built into." He let out a great thunderous yawn before rolling over on his side to face Nerisella.

"I wasn't tryin' ta insinuate that you'd be tryin' anything sneaky. I just didn't want to impose." He admitted, pulling the down pillow up under his squared jaw. He stared at the woman for a few moments before letting out another big yawn and resting his eyes. "I suppose ye'd probably prefer a spare hand to keep ol' crazy eyes at bay, anyway, wouldn't ya?" He questioned with a grin, his eyes still closed.

He wasn't asleep yet, and in fact, he felt far from being tired for some odd reason. He had been incredibly exhausted when he left the pub, but for some reason, despite his yawning and rested eyes, he didn't feel the alluring pull of sleep like he should have. He fluttered his eyes open and let out a small sigh before sitting up on the edge of his bed.

Hashburn Inn Empty Nerisella 18: Relaxation

Post by Cateyeniki Sat Jun 11, 2016 11:28 pm

Nerisella plopped her head onto the other side of the pillow and raised a brow at her new companion. "Ouch, that doesn't sound pleasant at all."

She waved off the Orc with a lazy flip of her hand."It's alright, trust me- it's happened a lot today." Mimicking Jericho, she let out a yawn as well, her eyes watering a bit at the action. She let out a chuckle at his question. " A spare hand would be nice, but I don't wanna mix you up with my crazy ass problems."

Closing her eyes as well, she flopped herself onto her back. " Right now, I just want to forget my problems for a while and look for some adventure somewhere ,and I think your life fits that criteria." Nerisella continued to relax on the bed with her eyes closed until she heard him sigh and shuffling.

Rolling her head to the side, Jericho was sitting on the edge of his bed. "What's wrong? Can't sleep or what?" Turning to her side, she propped her head into her hand and waited for her new friend to fess up.

Jericho 9

Jericho ran his large fingers through is thick black hair and leaned forward, hanging his head. "I'm not really sure, if we're being honest. I get the strange feeling that something bad is about to happen but I have no idea what that is. Obviously the world is just slowly falling apart, so that probably has a lot to do with it, but it's like there's something else."

He paused as he looked up at the lantern atop the table next to their beds. He watched the flame dance with itself, writhing about with vitality. Something was clearly wrong, but he just couldn't place his finger on it.

"I'm not sure. Maybe it's nothing." He rolled onto his back and stared at the straw ceiling with a great frown upon his face. Was it just him? Maybe he had drank too much ale at the pub earlier.

Hashburn Inn Empty Nerisella 19: Doubts

Post by Cateyeniki Mon Jun 13, 2016 3:16 am

As Nerisella listened to Jericho's woes she nodded in agreement and then laughed lightly. "Yeah, the world really is falling apart...well, if that's the case and if you feel like something awful's going to happen then let's do something about it!"

Sitting up, she turned her body towards the resting Orc. She understood where he was coming from with his worries, too much has happened in such a short amount of time- everything was turning on its head and nobody knew why. She could feel it too, that terrible feeling inside of her, something was going to happen if it hadn't already started that is....

"I have that feeling too my friend, in each city I go to, the feeling grows and ever since I came through those gates, it's been pounding- something's going on, but I don't know what....All I know is I want to stop it before the end comes to us all."

Sitting her elbows on her knees, Nerisella cupped her face and stared at the flame as well. As she stared at the flickering flame she continued, "Don't peg it as nothing Jericho, if you truly feel it, then it has to be true."

Jericho 10

Jericho heaved his large body up onto his side, resting on his elbow and looked the blue haired woman in the eyes as he pulled his mouth upward into a half-hearted smile. He knew she was right, that something big was about to happen, and that no one was quite sure what was going to happen, but he wasn't about to let that get to them.

"Look, we'll figure it out eventually, darlin'. Perhaps what we need is to set out for a new city, though. I feel that this one won't tell us much and I'm sure from what I've seen that there's not much work for us here." He began to fiddle with his braided beard with his free arm. "I suppose we should head north. I suspect we're bound to reach a larger city eventually."

He pulled his fingers up to his eyes and began to rub the fatigue away. He opened his eyes again and stared blankly at the woman in front of him. It seemed a little odd that they had gotten off to such a good start, and so quickly. He had known the woman less than a day and they had already committed to traveling together.

His eyes wandered slightly, looking around the barren room, resting on a work table, then on the chair, then back to the mattress, and finally, his eyes absently rested on her bosom for a long while. When he heard the bed creak in front of him, it occurred to him that he was staring at her chest and quickly looked at his pillow with a hint of embarrassment and started fluffing it to deter the awkward silence between them. A faint flush burdened his cheeks as he avoided eye contact.

Hashburn Inn Empty Nerisella 20: Deep Thoughts

Post by Cateyeniki Sat Jun 18, 2016 7:02 am

As Nerisella continued to watch the flame dance, entranced by the free movement of the element before her- it reminded her of when she would control the water, it had this movement to his as it wrapped around her arm. Laughing at her own excitement she nodded wordlessly as the Orc's words.

She was just so happy to be able to explore all these new and foreign places in front of her that she didn't want to waste a single second of it. Ever since she left her own city- the only place she ever knew- she found a whole new world that was full of mystery and different beings and she wanted to know and explore everywhere. She didn't want to scare off her new friend at her over excitement so she just stared at the flame more.

"Of course, just ignore me, I get over excited about explorations." Nerisella listened as Jericho suggested going North. She nodded at his words, there was nothing in terms of leads in this city, but hopefully somewhere North she'd get some answers on this damn prophecy that Benvah was spouting about and maybe a new lead about her mother, but with that she was doubtful- there hasn't been a new lead in over half a year, but maybe there's the slightest sliver of hope in the next place.

She heard Jericho fluff his pillows as her gaze removed itself from the flame and over to the Orc getting ready for the night. "Well, night Jericho, see you in a few hours." Throwing her legs back onto the bed, Nerisella pulled the thin blanket up and curled up a bit, snuggling into her pillow and closed her eyes hoping to get some sleep this night as her mind started to fill with thoughts of her mother, Benvah and the journey ahead with her new companion.

Jericho 11

Jericho heaved his legs onto the straw mattress and dropped his head into the prickly pillow. "G'night, darlin," he muttered as he closed his eyes. He tried hard for a few minutes to sleep before finally giving up and opening his eyes. To his surprise, their was daylight peeking through the dirty window. He must have fallen asleep without realizing it.

The stout green orc pulled himself off of the mattress and walked to the door of the room, openning it and padding across the hall wordlessly. He nodded with a raised eyebrow at the smirking innkeeper before entering the shower room behind him.

He immediately pulled his pants off and folded them on a holding rack before stepping under one of the large round shower heads. He pulled the rope and let the readily warm water run through his hair and beard before lathering his hands up with the complimentary soap and washing himself.

His mind wandered aimlessly throughout the shower, trying to remember which cities were placed north of the one they were in. He also smiled as he pictured the two of them hunting down outlaws and turning them in. It had been quite a while since he'd turned a profit, so he was really hoping this new woman would be of great help to get some extra coin in his pocket.

First, he figured they should probably stop in the nearest armory to see what was available for their travels. The idea of two bounty hunters working together generally meant bigger tasks, and that called for more thorough preparation.

Hashburn Inn Empty Nerisella 21: Red Dream

Post by Cateyeniki Mon Jun 27, 2016 7:50 am

Images and flashes of some manor filled Nerisella's mind as she slept. It was filled with elaborate decorations and people filled the rooms, dancing and chatting the night away like there wasn't a care in the word.

It was pleasant- the music and dancing and the laughter that echoed through the air, but then all she saw was red. It painted the walls and pooled on the floor- it made her sick. Laughter filtered the air as all the merriment came to a stop. It was Benvah's laughter and it scared Nerisella to her core.

Sitting straight up on the bed, she tried to slow her breathing down seeing as it was coming out ragged. Glancing to the side, Jericho wasn't in his bed and for that she was thankful. She really didn't want to explain what brought her to this state- he'd think she was insane.

Getting off the bed, she felt a bit shaky from her dream still as she went to the window and pulled it up as the fresh air hit her hot, sweaty skin. She let out a content sigh and looked out the window at the hustle and bustle of the city in the early morning. Her mind wondered to her dream, did it mean something? What did Benvah have to do with the bloodshed she saw? All these questions were giving her a headache as she messaged her aching temples.

A good washing would make her feel better, but she'd wait a while longer just so she could catch her bearings. She was glad she was leaving this city and moving along with a new friend and hopefully to new leads as well. Nerisella still needed to know what the hell Benvah was talking about with this whole prophecy nonsense as well as where her mother was and why she never tried to come back for her.

Nerisella laughed lightly. Everyone around her community used to tell her that her mother was just a whore and she'd never come back for anyone-not even her own child. The elder that raised her told her differently. How she was a wonderful woman who was gifted in magic and controlling her water abilities. The whips that Nerisella had were her mother's and she cherished them greatly.

She wanted to be just like her mother-gifted and wonderful. Leaning against the window frame, she smiled down at the people who continued to live their lives day by day. Maybe traveling with Jericho will be good for her- she was getting bored with traveling alone anyway and who knows what kind of adventures they'll go on. Smiling at the thoughts of up coming adventures and new places- she continued to grin like a fool and stare out upon the scene of the light covered streets.
